Dehradun (Uttarakhand):No injuries or casualties were reported in the fire which broke out in the C4 compartment of the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express train earlier on Saturday.
As per Uttarakhand Director General of Police Ashok Kumar, the fire has been brought under control.
"The fire which broke out in the C4 compartment of the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express train today has been brought under control. All passengers safe," Kumar said.
"Janashtabdi left for Dehradun at around 11.40 AM along with 316 passengers from Haridwar. After crossing Harrawala railway station, a train bogie caught fire while moving a forest near Kansro railway station. The fire was so fierce that the C4 compartment of the Express train was burnt to ashes," said, ASP GRP, Manoj Kumar Katyal.
