Dehradun (Uttarakhand):The military intelligence has begun investigation into the fake Indian Army identity cards scam, which the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) had busted earlier this month.
According to reports, a colonel rank officer from the Meerut Cantt. met with Ajay Singh, Superintendent of Police of STF and received all information related to the case.
The STF had on January 31 seized fake Indian Army identity cards and arrested three persons in the case.
The STF had received information based on which the three persons were arrested. The arrested accused revealed that by using the fake Indian Army cards, many people could avail several job opportunities, especially in foreign nations like Afghanistan and Iraq.
It was subsequently found that a former Indian Army officer, Raghuveer Singh was behind these activities.
"Raghuveer had allegedly illegally distributed more than 100 fake Indian Army Identification cards along with others and helped them travel to Pakistan, Dubai, Afghanistan and Iran. Raghuveer helped in preparing fake documents," Ajay Singh said.
