Rishikesh:Border Security Force (BSF) Sub-Inspector (SI)Rakesh Doval of Rishikesh who was martyred while taking on enemies in Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir was laid to rest on Monday with full state honours.
Education Minister Arvind Pandey, Assembly Speaker Premchand Agarwal also took part in the procession of the martyr's last journey as the Chief Minister's representatives where thousands of people of Rishikesh had come out on the road paying heartfelt tribute to the hero.
Outrage against Pakistan was also seen among the people where they also chanted slogans.
Several social, political and religious organizations also showered flowers on the procession and paid their respects to the martyr.
As a mark of respect, the shopkeepers also closed their respective establishments.
Rakesh's younger brother did the last rituals of cremation.
Nitya Doval, Rakesh's daughter who was also present at the cremation site said she's proud of her father and that one day she will fight against the enemies too.
