Chamoli (Uttarakhand): Humans have been associated with caves since time and age. Today, we are going to tell you about one such cave, located 12 km away from the Dungri village in the Gopeshwar district headquarter of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand.
This stone-age cave is called Gorkhya Udiyar, which is bearing the brunt of the state government's indifference, hence creating resentment amongst the locals.
Gorkhya Udiyar is located at the top part of a standing rock, which is 300 meters above the Alaknanda river bank. The wall of the caves is adorned with carvings of animals such as deers, goats, hunters in red colour.
If historians are to be believed, these carvings have been made by stone-age men, depicting the process of hunting.
