Rudraprayag: Heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham has caused damage to the shrine including properties belonging to Badri-Kedar Temple Committee.

According to the reports, the Committee has suffered huge losses following the snowfall and a team of committee members arrived at the Dham to take stock of the loss.

The team carried out inspection works near the shrine.

Visitors to Badrinath Dham have stated that snow is frozen from five to seven feet. Due to the extreme weather condition, traffic in the region has been badly affected and even the reconstruction works have stalled.

According to Chief Executive Officer of the temple committee, several facilities including Parikrama path and discourse hall have suffered structural damages in the snowfall.

Once the connectivity is restored the shrine is expected to open on 15th April. District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal said that more than 100 laborers are working to remove the snow from Linchalei to Kedarnath Dham.
