Uttarkashi: After recent incidents of face-off with the Chinese army in Ladakh, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and multiple units of the Indian Army increased their presence at the Indo-China Border along the Nelong valley region in Uttarakhand.
"Different units of the Indian Army, including 9th battalion of Bihar Regiment, a battalion of Garhwal Rifles, Kumaon Scouts and Ladakh Scouts have increased patrolling at forward posts in the region," sources said.
Looking at the tense situation at other border areas, Army and ITBP have increased their numbers and patrolling has been enhanced as a precautionary measure.
In a steep escalation of the ongoing Sino-Indian border face-off in eastern Ladakh, soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) attacked and killed 20 Indian soldiers, including a colonel, on Monday night.
