Dehradun (Uttarakhand): As a part of the scheme to reform and rehabilitate the inmates of Uttarakhand Jail, the jail authorities have started an initiative to help them don the role of Radio Jockeys( RJs). In this regard, preparations have already been started by the Suddowala Jail authorities in the state capital, Dehradun.
For the same, the authorities have prepared a soundproof studio in the jail premises where inmates as RJs will announce the daily official activities of the jail and will also play the Bollywood numbers at the request of fellow inmates The main objective of the programme is to help the inmates be in good humour and overcome depression.
The radio station is being set up with the help of a social worker, Dr Vartika Nanda. The selected RJs will have to go through an online audition on August 11 and those passing the audition will be given training by Radio FM Mirchi. In this regard, 10 male inmates and 5 female inmates have applied.
