Former Uttarakhand Minister Ramkumar Walia joins BJP

Congress leader, Ramkumar Walia of Uttarakhand has joined Bharatiya Janata Party today. Walia was also former national vice-president of Kisan Congress, said that he was impressed by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

New Delhi:Former Uttarakhand government minister and Congress leader Ramkumar Walia joined the BJP at its Delhi unit office on Friday, a statement said.

Walia, who was also former national vice-president of Kisan Congress, joined the BJP along with Sanjay Kumar, former general secretary of Kisan Congress and P D Jain, President of Delhi Digambar Jain Samaj.

BJP's Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta was present on the occasion, the statement issued by the party said.

"Walia's mobility and activeness will give strength to Delhi BJP and we will work together in a constructive and positive way to solve the problems of Delhi," Gupta said.

Walia said he was joining the BJP as he was impressed by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Walia said," I have been impressed by the decisions of the Modi government. As ai have been ignored by Congress for a long time, I chose my path and joined BJP today. Today I would also like to say that BJP will definitely make a proper place in the party."

"I was there with the Congress for las 35 years and I was fighting for the democratic system. I was raising my voice for the farmers. As no one listened to me, I left the party. Congress is not good for the farmer. I will be working for farmers," he added.
