Auli (Uttarakhand): With the high-profile weddings of controversial South African businessmen Ajay Gupta and Atul Gupta's sons inching closer, celebrated Bollywood singer Kailash Kher reached Uttarkhand's Auli Tuesday to commence the wedding celebrations.
Several other film personalities are also expected to grace the occasion including the likes of Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra, and Urvashi Rautela.
The two weddings costing nearly 200 crore are scheduled to take place between June 20 and June 22.
Earlier, the Uttarakhand High Court, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Monday, rebuffed the Bharatiya Janta Party-led state government for permitting the weddings in ecologically sensitive Auli.
The High Court Chief Justice ordered the Uttarakhand Pollution Board to visit the wedding site and file a status report on the damages by Tuesday and said that the state government's permission to organise the wedding will set the wrong precedent.
It has also sought a report on the wedding by July 8.

The Guptas had hit the headlines last year for their proximity to Jacob Zuma who was ousted as South African president and is now facing corruption charges. Their posh home in the plush Johannesburg suburb of Saxonwold was raided by South Africa’s elite police in February last year.
The Gupta family had moved to South Africa from Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh in 1993.
