Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand):District Magistrate (DM) Dr Vijay Kumar Jogdande on Friday visited the State Bank of India headquarters near here after it has been decided to increase the working hours of all banking sectors.
The DM has directed all the 113 branches of the district to operate from 8 am to 1 pm to evade inconvenience to the people.
The District Magistrate has also directed to issue tokens to the customer in order to maintain social distancing while collecting cash adding to ensure an adequate amount of hand sanitizer to avoid the spread of novel coronavirus in the region.
Amid rumours of COVID-19, Dr Vijay has also directed to sanitize all the ATMs kiosks in order to avoid a cash crunch in the area.
