Nine passengers were killed and several others are feared trapped after a boulder fell on their bus at Lambagad slide zone on Badrinath Highway in Chamoli district earlier today.
Police team is present at the spot. Rescue operation is underway.
Heavy rainfall in the state has led to a landslide, waterlogging and traffic disruptions on the highway.

Nine children died after bus falls into gorge in Tehri Garhwal
Nine children were killed after a school bus rolled down a gorge in Tehri Garhwal today.
According to reports, the bus was ferrying 18 children at the time of accident.
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team had rushed to the spot soon after the incident.
Those injured were shifted to a district hospital in Baurari where they are undergoing treatment.
Five children were airlifted to Rishikesh AIIMS for further treatment.

Tehri Garhwal:Atleast 18 people died in two seperate accidents in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.
Nine children were killed after a school bus carrying 18 children, rolled down a gorge.
The incident was reported from Kangsali of Tehri Garhwal.
