Yogi asks police to prepare list of criminals, put them in jails

Lucknow: In the backdrop of the killing of eight police officials by gangster Vikas Dubey, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the state police to prepare a list of criminals and put them behind bars, sources said.


They said the Chief Minister has directed Director General of Police (DGP) Hitesh Chandra Awasthi that no criminal should be seen roaming in the state.


Yogi, they said, has asked the police to prepare a district wise list of the criminals and act against them.


It is learnt that the DGP would ask police officials at the district level and the work would be completed in a mission mode.

On Friday, the Chief Minister visited the injured police officials in the hospital and enquired about their health. He also had a word with the doctors treating them.


Adityanath assured that none of the culprits would be spared and that the policemen's martyrdom would be avenged.
