Work on the world's longest LPG pipeline project starts in Varanasi

The work of laying the world's longest gas pipeline under the central government project has started in the Ramai Patti village of Pindra Tehsil of the Varanasi. This gas pipeline from Kandla Port of Gujrat to Gorakhpur covers a distance of 2805 kilometres, is said to be the longest gas pipeline in the world.

Varanasi: The work of laying the world's longest gas pipeline under the central government project has started in the Ramai Patti village of Pindra Tehsil of the Varanasi. This gas pipeline from Kandla Port of Gujrat to Gorakhpur covers a distance of 2805 kilometres, is said to be the longest gas pipeline in the world. The Bhoomi Poojan was completed today and the work of laying the gas pipeline with the technical team has also started.

Not only Uttar Pradesh but Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will also benefit from the gas pipeline scheme. In this entire scheme, investment of Rs 10,000 crore is being done by three big oil and gas companies together.

These include Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. Among them, Indian Oil Corporation holds the maximum stake of 50 per cent, while Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum will hold 25 per cent. It is being said that this entire project will be completed before 2024.

The biggest benefit of this scheme will go directly to Uttar Pradesh. According to information received from sources, 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh will directly benefit from the world's longest LPG pipeline scheme.

The pipeline will pass through the districts of Lalitpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Deoria. This gas pipeline will supply gas to a total of 22 gas refilling plants in 3 states. These include 3 gas refilling plants in Gujarat, 6 refilling plants in Madhya Pradesh, 13 gas refilling plants in Uttar Pradesh.

The work will be completed before 2024. A total of 34 crore people in the country will be benefited following the completion of the project. India will also create a world record because no other country has such a long gas pipeline.
