Woman gang-raped in Saharanpur

Saharanpur: A woman, who was on her way to deliver food for family members working in the fields, was allegedly gang-raped, police said.

The incident took place in Milko village of the district when the woman was dragged inside a sugarcane field by three men who then took turns to rape her.

Sons of the victim, who were working in the fields near-by rushed to the site hearing her cries. One of the sons told ETV Bharat that they reached the spot soon after but the criminals had left by then.

"We found our mother lying there as they had left by the time we reached," he said.

The victim was sent to a hospital for medical checkup and treatment, the police said, adding that an FIR has also been registered and the probe into the matter is on.

Police said the victim had some land dispute with the accused and the case would be probed keeping all related things in mind.
