Woman burnt alive by in-laws over dowry in Uttar Pradesh

A woman was burnt alive by her in-laws allegedly for dowry in Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur district. The woman succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a district hospital.

Lalitpur (Uttar Pradesh): A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh where a woman burnt alive by her in-laws allegedly for dowry on Monday night. The woman succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a district hospital.

According to the police, Santhosh Bhodale, a resident of Mahroni town, married his daughter Neha to Azad Tiwari.

While talking to the deceased family, they informed that the couple was fighting last night and Azad was demanding money of which she declined after which the in-laws including the husband tied her with rope and burnt her alive.

The in-laws used to torture her from last two years over dowry, they added.

The police have registered a case against the in-laws including the deceased's husband Azad Tiwari, all the accused are currently absconding and a search is on.
