Fatehpur Sikri: It seems ECI's action against four bad-mouthing ranters, in the runup for ongoing poll campaign, on Monday has failed to deter their rivals as Shri Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit, BSP candidate from Fatehpur Sikri, openly threatened to "thrash" Congress leader Raj Babbar and his supporters if they talked ill about him in public.
Pandit, while Babbar's supporters as "dogs", said he would boot the Congress leader and his "agents" if they spread lies about him in public.
BSP leader threatens Raj Babbar "Listen Raj Babbar's dogs. Tumko aurtumharenetanachaniya ko daudadaudakejootonsemaarunga jo jhoottfaelayasamaajmein. Jahan milega, Ganga maa ki saugandhtujhejootonsemaarunga, tujheaurteredalaalon ko ( I will thrash you and your dancing leader with shoes if lies are spread in the society. Wherever you be, I swear on Ganga that I will beat you and your middlemen with shoes)," Pandit said at a rally here on Monday.
In the run-up to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Pandit was booked more than four times for violation of the model code of conduct.
The BSP leader had won from Dibai constituency in 2007 Assembly elections. However, he joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) in 2012 and re-contested from the seat.
Pandit was later expelled from SP along with his brother Mukesh Sharma for going against his party's whip, following which he returned to the BSP.
According to the affidavit filed by Pandit, there are seven criminal cases filed against him, including extortion.
Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh are being held in all seven phases. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
