Widow sold on pretext of marriage in Uttar Pradesh

A widow, who live in Ghaziabad's Teela More area, has got a police complaint lodged against a woman, who allegedly sold her to someone in Loni on the pretext of marriage.

Ghaziabad: A widow and mother of three children, who lived in Teela More area here, has alleged that a woman had sold her for Rs 2 lakh on the pretext of marriage, police said.

In an FIR registered she told the police that the woman sent her to Loni, where three people laced her drink with drugs and she somehow managed to free herself from their clutches.

"I somehow managed to reach home. I had to arrange money to do so," she told ETV Bharat, adding that the woman, who cheated her worked at several places and had carried out such deals earlier also.

The widow also alleged that her children, who are missing since the incident, must have been abducted by the same woman.

After filing the case, the police have started investigating the case.
