Auraiya (Uttar Pradesh): In a recent development in the history-sheeter Vikas Dubey case, a man named Amit Dubey, who is believed to be a close associate of the wanted criminal, has been found in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura, police said on Monday.
Abandoned vehicle's owner found lying on road in Mathura During the investigation of Kanpur encounter, where eight police personnel were killed by Vikas Dubey gang, police had found an unclaimed four-wheeler on July 5.
As per police, the vehicle belonged to Amit Dubey who was found lying near the road, blindfolded with his hand-tied at the back on Monday.
On getting information police reached the spot and took Amit into custody.

A team of Auraiya police is on its way to Mathura to arrest Amit.
As per passers-by, Amit revealed that few unidentified men caught hold of him and threw him on the road after thrashing him brutally
Slain gangster Vikas Dubey's post-mortem report has confirmed that he had died of haemorrhage and shock due to ante-mortem firearm injuries. Dubey was gunned down in an encounter on July 10.
Meanwhile, the Kanpur encounter took place on the intervening night of July 2 and 3 when the police team was approaching to arrest Vikas Dubey who was facing over 60 criminal cases. As the police team was about to reach the hideout of the dreaded criminal, a hail of bullets was showered on them from a building rooftop, leaving Deputy SP Devendra Mishra, three sub-inspectors and four constables dead. Seven others, including a civilian, were injured in the attack.
