Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi govt school emerges as role model for other schools

Adarsh Primary School in Sewapuri block of Varanasi has emerged as a role model for all the schools in the district in terms of top-notch education and other facilities. Impressed by the education of this school, even students from different convent schools have got themselves enrolled here.

Varanasi: When we talk about a government primary school, the image which comes to mind is one of a dilapidated structure, looking more like a hut than a school building.

However, things are changing very fast and the primary schools are donning a new look these days.

There is one such government school in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, which has become an example for others in the country.

Even Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has himself praised the beauty of this school.

Adarsh Primary School in Sewapuri block of Varanasi has become a point of reference to other schools.

In this school, which has been developed on the lines of a convent school, better education is imparted for the all-round development of students.

Here students continue their studies along with extra co-curricular activities as well.

Impressed by the education of this school, even students from different convent schools have got themselves enrolled in this government school.

Talking to ETV Bharat, teachers of this primary school spoke about the facilities being given to the students.

Principal Mithilesh Gupta said about 70 children have taken admission here after cancelling their admissions in private schools.

The total number of students in the school at present is 637, which is increasing every year, he said.

He said that this school is the first such school, which organized an ‘ancient student’ conference at the primary level.

This programme was even appreciated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After this, an alumni meet was also organised in the school.

The principal said that district-level competitions are also organized in the school from time to time to enhance the talent of students.

The students participate in such programmes with a great deal of enthusiasm.

The principal said that he was very happy when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the school.

School Has Its Own Library And Laboratory

Teacher Uma Shankar Verma said that all the state-of-the-art facilities are available in the school.

"There are about 500 books in the library here. There is also a book bank from where students take books to their homes and return after reading," he said.

A laboratory has also been built in the school, where children learn through experimentation, he added.

Thathera village head Siyaram Kesari said that efforts are being made to ensure all-round development of this school further.

He said "We are trying to make the school a better one. This school has a lot of better facilities compared to other primary schools. Children studying here have access to better facilities and the environment."
