Two people were taken into custody in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh after they tried to kill a patient in ICU by administering a lethal injection. A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.

Lucknow: In a shocking incident on Wednesday two people were arrested after they entered into a private hospital in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh and tried to kill a patient in Intensive Care Unit by administering a lethal injection, an official said.

Two held for trying to administer lethal injection on patient in a private hospital in Kasang.

The accused have been identified as Pramod and Shantanu Chaudhary. According to the reports, a case has been registered and the probe is afoot to nab the three absconding accused. Police said some culprits were disguised as doctors while a few others posed as the patient's relative.

The incident occurred in the wee hours; medical staffs rushed in and caught two culprits red-handed, however, three others managed to escape.

Sources reveal that some poisonous injection was also recovered from the accused's possession.

"Two men walked up to the ICU ward of Krishna Hospital. They wrote the name of a poisonous drug in the file of a patient named Vijendra. Moreover, one of them acted as a doctor and wrote an instruction which said that Anawin injection should be given to the patient in a dose of five ml at 9:30 am. Meanwhile, they started injecting the patient at that moment, that is when the hospital staffs rushed in," a source said.
