Azamgarh (UP): A cyber fraud complaint has been registered in Hegaipur under Bilriyaganj police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh on Wednesday, where a 10-year-old boy has allegedly duped of Rs 8 lakh by some unidentified persons.
According to police, Harivanshlal Shrivastav, a resident of Hegaipur village in Azamgarh has submitted a written complaint on Wednesday that he lost over Rs 8 lakh from his bank account recently.
"As per the investigation, we found that complainant, Harivashlal's son, Kapil prefers to play online games. Some cyber fraudsters joined him while playing an online game and started chatting with him. During the chat, the unknown persons first took Kapil in their faith and gave a demo of the 'debit card game shopping' to buy the game. After this, they asked for Kapil's father's debit card number and transferred some amount through Paytm online transfer," said, SP, Triveni Singh.
"Later, the fraudsters created a fake UPI ID and transferred Rs 8 lakh from Harivanshlal's account. The cyber fraudsters targeted the innocent and cheated him of eight lakh rupees from his father's bank account," Singh added.
