Uttar Pradesh: Six cured in three days at AMU med college

Six COVID-19 patients have been recovered in last three days at Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) of the AMU. The University's Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor lauded relentless efforts of doctors and other health workers and expressed satisfaction over the treatment given to the patients.

Aligarh:With six Covid-19 patients fully recovered in past three days, the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), claims a remarkable recovery rate.

A 63-year-old patient who tested positive 10 days ago, was discharged from the hospital on Monday evening, doctors at the hospital said.

The JNMC has tested 7,680 samples from Aligarh, Mathura, Noida, Kasganj, Hathras, Bulandshahar, Agra, Rampur, Etah and 185 have been found Corona positive so far, said Professor Haris M. Khan Nodal Officer and Chairman Department of Microbiology.

The AMU Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor lauded relentless efforts of doctors and other health workers and expressed satisfaction over the treatment given to the patients.

The medical college has set up a special covid ward to treat Level-2 patients and it has become operational four week ago. In all eight patients have been discharged so far and seven patients are under treatment, said Professor Shahid Siddiqui, Principal JNMC.

Four batches comprising 12 doctors, 12 nurses, 8 attendants, and 8 cleaners fully equipped with PPEs, work round the clock in the covid ward.

The medical college has also set up a central control room equipped in the telemedicine technology so that the consultants can communicate with residents doctors and nursing staff in covid ward.

According to Abdul Waris, Deputy Medical Superintendent, 35 to 40 patients are being treated daily at the Flu Clinic.
