Uttar Pradesh man arrested for raping daughter for six months

A man was arrested by the Dullahpur police in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur district after his wife filed a complaint against him for allegedly raping their daughter repeatedly over a period of six months.

Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh): A man in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur was arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter.

The mother of the girl filed a complaint against her husband at the Dullahpur police station. She said that her husband had been raping their minor daughter for the past six months.

The woman said she was initially not aware of the crime, but when she finally came to know about it, she tried to talk to her husband to avoid going to the police.

However, as the man did not mend his ways, and continued committing the crime, his wife filed a complaint against him for allegedly harassing and raping their daughter.

Ghazipur Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Singh said that the man was immediately arrested after his wife filed a complaint. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway, and the victim has been sent to the district hospital for her medical check-up, the SP informed.
