Moradabad:A year and a half after registering a case, police in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district has finally filed a charge-sheet against Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and four others for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating an event organiser.
A case was registered against all of them, following a complaint filed by city-based event organiser Pramod Sharma at Katghar police station last year, after the actress failed to show up at an event in Delhi despite accepting a booking amount of Rs 24 lakh.
The charge-sheet was filed days after the complainant Sharma tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and senior police officials alleging delay in progress of the case.
According to police, during a course of investigation and enquiry, the allegations levelled up by the complainant were found to be true. So, charge-sheet has been filed against Sonakshi Sinha, Abhishek Sinha, Edgar Skarai, Bhoomil Dhakkar and Malika Punjabi under section 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust).
As per reports, the event manager had booked the Dabbang actress through Talent Fullon Entertainment Company for India Fashion and Beauty Award event, which was scheduled to be held in Sep 2018. The complainant had paid Rs 24 lakh in advance and sent flight tickets to her but she didn't turn up for the event, which caused a huge loss to the event organiser.
