UP: Reports attribute unknown reasons for the death of children in Firozabad

According to the reports, the doctors had not even examined the children, considering it as the seasonal flu. In the reports, it was also mentioned that the children died of unknown reasons in Firozabad.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh):Amid reports of more than forty children dying due to viral fever in parts of Uttar Pradesh, the government sprung into action and removed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Firozabad district, Nita Kulshreshtha, and issued necessary guidelines to the administration. The government also called for a report from the Additional Chief Secretary of Health.

In the report send to the government, several loopholes have been revealed.

According to the reports, the doctors had not even examined the children, considering it as the seasonal flu. In the reports, it was also mentioned that the children died of unknown reasons in Firozabad.

Meanwhile, the reason for the deaths of two children has been attributed to Dengue.

So far 44 children have died in Firozabad.

According to the Director of State Communicable Diseases Dr GS Bajpai, till now a total of 44 children died in Firozabad, in which Dengue was confirmed in two patients while the other patients were not examined. According to Dr GS Bajpai, the cause of fever is being found to be dengue, malaria, scrub typhus, leptospirosis. The common symptoms of the disease include diarrhoea, vomiting and high fever.
