UP woman cop alleges rape, blackmailing by male colleague

A woman police constable has accused her male colleague of rape, blackmailing and extortion. She said after they became friends, he invited her to his place and raped her after spiking her drink. He also extracted money from her, claiming that he had a video of their intimate moments, she charged.

Lucknow: A woman constable of Uttar Pradesh police has accused a male colleague of rape and blackmailing, and got an FIR registered against him, official sources said here.

The complainant is currently on leave after getting discharged from a hospital where she was admitted for attempting suicide, they said.

In the FIR lodged in Hazratganj police station here, she said constable Gaurav Kumar met her in 2018 and they became friends. One day he invited her to his place where he raped her after spiking her drink.

Later, he kept on assaulting her sexually after the incident and also extracted money claiming he had a video of their intimate moments.

The woman constable also alleged that Kumar kept on promising marriage but never worked towards it. She tried committing suicide as he started threatening her. Police are investigating the case.
