Chandauli (Uttar Pradesh):The interrogation of the helpers, who were assisting the recently arrested Al Qaeda terrorists from Lucknow, has revealed the names of Kanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, and Chandauli with the connection of the supply of arms.
Based on the interrogation of two terrorists of Al-Qaeda-backed Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, Minhaj Ahmed and Mashiruddin, the UP Police ATS arrested their local helpers - Mohammad Shakeel, resident of Wazirganj, Mohammad Mustakim from Hasanganj Khadra, and Mohammad Moeed from Haiderganj Temple Road Lucknow. The Police are now getting credible inputs and intelligence from these five arrested terrorists.

A large consignment of arms has been recovered in Chandauli. In the year 2019, the Mughalsarai police arrested Sanjay Sharma during a raid in a house located in Vyasnagar. The UP police recovered three guns of 12 bore, three pistols of 315 bore, six cartridges, seven-barrel pipes along with equipment for making illegal weapons. Apart from this, Mughalsarai Junction's Government Railway Police have also recovered a large consignment of arms in the last two years.

How these weapons and supplies were procured from the four districts of Uttar Pradesh is a concern for the security establishment. The UP Police ATS is currently investigating the matter.
