Amethi: The Jagdishpur police of Amethi district have arrested Aam Aadmi Party legislator Somnath Bharti on Monday for his alleged derogatory statement about the condition of hospitals in Uttar Pradesh.
He had made the statement on Saturday at a party meeting in Jagdishpur.
According to the reports, Jagdishpur police have left for Amethi after arresting the AAP leader from Rae Bareli.
An FIR has been registered against Bharti at Jagdishpur police station under section 505 and 153A.
Notably, after his arrest, the convoy of AAP workers from Rae Bareli is behind the police.
