Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh):A 17-year-old girl was attacked by her neighbour with a sharp weapon over a family feud at Dighiya village under Majhila police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district on Saturday.
The victim girl's health condition is said to be critical as she has been admitted at Hardoi DHH.
Police arrested the accused, identified as Ramnaresh of the same locality.
UP: Minor girl attacked by neighbour with sharp weapons, critical According to sources, families of Nanhelal, father the minor girl and Ramnaresh live in Dighiya village as neighbours. Today a heated argument erupted between members of the two families.
Later the verbal spat took an ugly turn and Ramnaresh rushed allegedly attacked the girl with a sharp weapon. As a result, the girl's hands were completely severed by the accused.
On being informed about the incident, girl's family members with the help of locals rushed the girl to a nearby hospital. As her condition deteriorated she has been shifted to Hardoi DHH, sources said.
While the fight was said to have started from trivial issue, it has been claimed that past enmity was the reason behind it.
Later, the victim’s family lodged a complaint in this regard at Majhila Police Station. Accordingly, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
