UP man tries to prove that he is infact alive!

Daya Shankar Shukla finds it difficult to prove he is alive, as he was registered dead by a person to take hold of his possessions including land and other entitlements. According to reports, Shankar lost 10 acres of land due to this fraud.

Shahjahanpur:Daya Shankar Shukla, a resident in a remote village in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is living an administrative nightmare to prove to district authorities that he is, in fact, alive.

According to reports, Daya Shankar was registered dead by Deepak Mishra, resident of a neighbouring village, to take hold of Shankar's possessions including land and other entitlements.

For this, the accused Mishra used legal loopholes to register Shankar dead. Daya Shankar has been running from pillar to poles with his Aadhaar card to prove, he is 'officially' alive.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Shankar said that his name matches with the name of the accused Deepak Mishra's father who had died long back.

"He registered me dead and cheated me of my land. Deepak Mishra used his father's death certificate to forge my identity," Shankar said.

Further, Shankar also went on to accuse the village and district officials of refusing to overturn his death certificate.

Following the complaint, the Police have now registered a case and investigations are underway.
