UP man loses wife in gamble, allows friends to outrage her modesty

In a horrifying incident, a man bet his wife after running out of money and allowed his friends to outrage her modesty in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. The case has been registered and the investigation is underway.

Kanpur: In a shameful incident, a man addicted to gambling and alcohol put his wife on bet after running out of money in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on September 15. What's more after his defeat he handed over her to his friends.

The victim, who lives in the Kalyanpur police station area, claimed that her inebriated husband had put her on stake while gambling.

She alleged that her husband in the state of intoxication bashed her and later handed her over to his five friends who were also drunk after she opposed their act of gambling.

They started harassing her sexually and even tore her clothes.

"Somehow, I managed to escape and ran to the kitchen and immediately called the police," told the victim.

Talking to media, the victim claimed that after her complaint, the police did arrest the accused but later they were released owing to bribe.

Reacting to the matter, SP Sanjeev Suman said, "A case has been registered under relevant sections and the investigation is underway."
