UP folks enjoy quarantine amid COVID-19 curb

A quarantine facility in UP is witnessing joy and harmony as inmates here are actively taking part in refreshing activities with COVID-19 health guidelines in focus.

Banda:A total of 90 individuals quarantined in Gulshan-e- Fatma Inter College of Sadi Madanpur village, Banda distrcit in Uttar Pradesh have been enjoying their quarantine and sending a message across the nation to collectively fight back the COVID-19 pandemic despite facing immense challenge, an official said.

Sub Divisional Magistrate(UP), Rajiv Kumar stated that most of them are migrants who had returned from different states when the lockdown order came in force. Following the government's advice, they have been kept in quarantine facility and their needs and basic demands are being taken care of by the officials.

"In order to keep them all away from boredom, some social activities were permitted. However, all the precautionary measures and social distancing norms were kept in focus," Rajiv Kumar added.

Reportedly, people here living in quarantine participate everyday in singing, chanting mantras, playing musical instruments and taking part in volleyball to spread happiness, especially to keep monotony at bay.

"I know the situation across the world is gloomy but we have been trying to spread happiness by celebrating every moment during our stay in quarantine. Everyday we play, dance and pray God to heal the world and make everything normal like it was earlier," Amarjeet, one of the quarantined persons explained.

Early morning they are taught yoga; meals are provided on time and their health condition is also examined timely, an official added.

Meanwhile Uttar Pradesh on Sunday reported 452 COVID-19 active cases with five fatalities recorded so far.
