UP police form teams to nab Vikas Dubey, say cops linked with dreaded criminal

The Uttar Pradesh police have identified some police personnel who were in contact with Vikas Dubey and started investigating into the matter by forming more than 25 groups of police personnel.

Lucknow:More than 25 teams have been formed by the UP Police to nab history-sheeter Vikas Dubey who was yet to be apprehended 36 hours after eight police personnel were gunned down by criminals during an attempt to arrest him.

In first, regarding this matter, ETV Bharat reported that the police officials are trying to identify such police employees who were in contact with Vikas Dubey based on call detail. Now, the police department has identified some police personnel who were in contact with Vikas Dubey and investigating into the matter.

According to police sources, a surveillance team found few policemen on the call details linked to the criminal Vikas Dubey. Police officials also said the surveillance team was scanning over 500 mobile phones and efforts were on to retrieve information about Dubey, who has faced about 60 criminal cases.

In the context of Vikas Dubey, many rumours have surfaced on social media in which information was sent in connection with his arrest.

Misinformation about the death of the police personnel also went viral on social media. In such a situation, the police officials said that there is no need to pay attention to this information. Authentic information will be released by the police department.

Reportedly, the captains of both the districts have already denied the information about the arrest of Vikas Dubey by the police in Auraiya.

Notably, the history-sheeter, along with his supporters, had gunned down eight policemen and injured seven others when the latter were raiding his residence in Bikaru village in Kanpur.
