UP CM Yogi Adityanath distributes financial aid under state govt schemes

During a meeting at his residence, UP CM Yogi Adityanath distributed financial assistance to 3,484 'Naveen Rojgar Chatri Yojna' and 'Pandit Deendayal Swarojgar Yojana' beneficiaries through digital transactions. The state government aims to bring 10 lakh ST/SC families under welfare schemes.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday distributed financial assistance to 'Naveen Rojgar Chatri Yojna' and 'Pandit Deendayal Swarojgar Yojana' beneficiaries through online transactions.

Under the scheme, funds have been transferred to 3484 beneficiaries.

In the first quarter of 2020, financial assistance has been provided to 1,77,491 people belonging to scheduled caste by various departments.

During a meeting held at his residence, CM Adityanath said, "I would like to congratulate these beneficiaries. Through these funds, the government is paving way for the people to self-reliance through self-employment. As we all know that we are fighting a battle against the COVID-19 pandemic people around the world have been hit financially due to the virus. The step has been taken for the economic prosperity of all people."

The Social Welfare Department has worked to bring nearly 3,500 under schemes worth Rs 17 crore 42 lakh. But this is just the beginning, the government aims to cover 7,50,000 families in Uttar Pradesh in 2020-21. This year only 1,77,000 families have been benefitted. Its is a huge goal of connecting more than six lakh people. Shortly, we would aim to bring 10 lakh families of scheduled caste and the scheduled tribe under the state government's schemes. Once we will be able to make these communities financially independent, then only we can pave way for eradication of social inequality," he added.

The Chief Minister also said that the next time the government will ask the Social Welfare Department to provide loans to 500 people from each district. There are 18,000 bank branches in the state. If each branch gives a loan to two people, then 36,000 people can be easily connected with employment.

Meanwhile, King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow said 247 samples out of total 5,156 were detected positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

According to the Union Health Ministry, there are 43,441 COVID-19 cases in the state.

Minister of State for Social Welfare Ramapati Shastri, GS Dharmesh, Chairman of Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation, Dr Lal G. Nirmal, among others were present during the meeting.
