Shravasti (UP): The historical town of Shravasti, which is generally teeming with tourists from East Asian nations, now wears a relatively deserted look due to the threat of coronavirus.

Tourists were in for an unpleasant surprise as they found the gates of the temple locked. A banner was put up at the gate, which said that the temple would remain shut until the coronavirus situation sees an improvement.

Rajesh Kumar Mishra, SDM, Ikauna, informed that the Daen Mahamongkol Buddhist Temple was built by a foreign organisation, and has been shut as a precautionary measure.
The district itself is under no threat from the coronavirus, he added.
