UP: 5 killed in road mishap in Shahjahanpur
Shahjahanpur (UP): At least 5 people died on the spot when their car fell into a gorge after hitting a tree while overtaking another car at state highway near Sada village in Nigoni police station limits here.
The accident took place late Monday night.
The vehicle was reduced to a mangled heap of iron and the bodies were taken out after cutting through with gas cutters.
After getting information from the locals, the police reached the accident site and sent the bodies for autopsy.
The incident took place while they were on their way to Bisalpur to attend a wedding.
The driver lost control while overtaking another car near Pipariya Udayabhanpur.
Police have identified the deceased as Zakir, Ashfaq, Gaurav, Yameen and Lala. They all were the residents of Shantipuram colony in Shahjahanpur.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
