Uttar Pradesh: Honour killing of girl for eloping with married man

An uncle brutally murdered his own niece for eloping with a married man and then coming back to live in the same village in Sitapur district, according to the police. The accused uncle was arrested and the weapon has been recovered.

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) : A sensational incident of honour killing has surfaced in the Sitapur district. Here an uncle attacked his own niece with a sharp weapon and killed her on Saturday. After the murder, the accused uncle himself reached the police station with the weapon used for the murder and surrendered. The police have arrested him for the murder. The reason for this sensational incident is said to be that the girl eloped with a person from another community and came back to live in the village.

At present, the police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Other officers including SP have reached the spot and inspected the area. This ghastly incident of honour killing took place in the Pisawan police station area. The uncle brutally murdered his own niece with a sharp weapon. According to the police, the girl had an illegal relationship with a married man from the village itself.

After this, the girl's uncle sent her to her father in Ghaziabad. The married man went to Ghaziabad and called the girl and took her away. According to the information, after the marriage, both of them started living together and a few days ago he returned to the village with the girl. According to the police, his uncle came to know about this on Saturday. He planned to kill his niece, dragged her out of the house and brought her to the road, and then brutally murdered her by cutting her with a knife.

After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot. Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Pratap Singh said that the family members of the lover have given a complaint accusing the girl's uncle and his wife, along with their minor son, of dragging them out of the house and killing them. Police say that this is a case of honour killing. The accused uncle has been arrested. The rest of the other suspects are being investigated closely. At the same time, this incident has spread sensation in the area.
