Two journalists shot at in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra

Two journalists working for local newspapers were shot in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh when the duo were sitting in a hotel.

Sonbhadra (UP):Two journalists working for local newspapers were allegedly shot at by unidentified assailants in the Kaliyari market area in Sonbhadra district, police said on Thursday. "The journalists -- Shyam Sunder Pandey and Laddu Pandey -- working for different newspapers were sitting at a hotel in the market when they were shot at by the motorcycle-borne assailants," SHO Pranav Srivastava said.

Police have formed a team to identify and arrest the assailants. The injured media persons were referred to Varanasi for better treatment, police officials said. Both journalists were sitting in a hotel around 8.40 pm on Thursday. Suddenly two bike-borne youth came and opened fire on them. Somehow both journos managed to save themselves but received bullet injuries. As per the doctors, the two journalists are stable.
