Three booked for allegedly abducting, raping girl in Uttar Pradesh

A case has been registered against three persons in Uttar Pradesh's Basti after an 18-year-old girl accused them of abducting her to Ghaziabad and then raping her. The accused also allegedly threatened to kill the family of the woman.

Basti:Police have registered a case against three persons in Uttar Pradesh's Basti district, after a girl accused them of abducting and raping her.

The 18-year-old girl, who resides in the Kalwari police station limits, said that one Mukesh Yadav of Lalganj area and two of his friends had come to her house at around midnight on July 16. The trio forcefully dragged her inside their car, and threatened that her entire family would be killed if anyone opened their mouth.

The victim said that she was abducted and taken to Ghaziabad, where she was raped in a room. When she opposed, the youth assaulted her and threatened to kill her, she said.

The woman then somehow made her way back to Basti, and on July 25, she narrated her ordeal to the Kalwari police.

SP Hemraj Meena said that based on the woman's statement, a case has been registered against Mukesh and his two friends under various provisions of the law.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the case is underway.
