Stray dogs maul teenager to death in Uttar Pradesh

A pack of stray dogs mauled a minor girl to death in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district. Locals had rushed to help but couldn’t do much to save the girl and she succumbed to injuries on the spot.

Pilibhit: In a tragic incident, a pack of stray dogs attacked a 12-year-old girl and mauled her to death in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district on Tuesday.

According to sources, the incident happened when the minor girl had gone to the nearby agricultural fields to bring some coriander leaves.

On seeing the ferocious dogs, even locals who rushed to help couldn’t do much to save the girl and she succumbed to injuries on the spot, they added.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Jaiprakash Yadav, Superintendent of Police, said that the police reached the spot and sent the body for the autopsy.

"We are taking all possible steps to avert such incidents in the future. The District Magistrate has also ordered the forest authorities to catch the stray dogs and release them away from human settlements," he added.
