Lucknow:The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a petition which sought a CBI probe into an encounter of criminal Rakesh Pandey who died in Lucknow on 9 August.
The bench led by the Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, asked the petitioner Vishal Tiwari to approach the High court.
Tiwari had contended that Uttar Pradesh government is taking the law into its hand and he claimed that the encounter of Pandey was planned beforehand. He further said this encounter followed a few days after Vikas Dubey's encounter.
In his plea, the petitioner had sought to set up an inquiry commission in order to investigate the matter and to register an FIR against the policemen involved.
