Rs 4.79 lakh crore Budget presented in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A Rs 4.79 lakh crore 2019-20 Budget for Uttar Pradesh was presented in the state assembly on Thursday. It was presented by state Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal.

Today's Budget was 12 per cent higher than the previous year's budget of Rs. 4,28,384.52 crore.


Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present in the House when the finance minister read out the Budget speech. In his speech, Agarwal mentioned a number of new populist schemes. This is the third budget of the Adityanath government in the state.


Main Highlights:-

  • Announcement of Meerut-Prayagraj highway.
  • The traders whose turnover is more than 50 million are laible to file GST return in three months.
  • Homeguard duty allowance has been made to Rs 500.
  • 66 lakhs farmers issued credit cards.
  • 71 lakh homeless villagers will get their homes by March this year.
  • Over 2 billion has been allocated to health expenditure
  • 18.1 million families has been covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
  • 7 cities of the state has been covered under Amrit Yojana.
  • 97,0873 toilets has been constructed.
  • 100 public health centres has been opened.
  • Kushinagar airport will start soon.
  • Special attention to cultural and spirtual tourism in the state.
  • Formation of Uttar Pradesh Merchant Kalyan Board.
  • Medical facilities will be provided under Chief Minister's Health Mission.
  • Rs. 56 crore allocated for dairy in Mathura.
  • Rs. 810 crores allocated for Special Schemes of Bundelkhand.
  • Rs 1,000 crores allocated for Bundelkhand Express way.
  • Rs 6,000 crores for Clean India campaign in rural areas.
  • 97,873 new toilets has been constructed.
  • Rs 2000 crore allocated to Ayodhya Airport.
  • Rs 1 crore allocated for implementation of tourism policy.
  • Over 2000 crore allocated for Mid-day meal scheme.
  • Rs 1 crore allocated for Vrindavan Research Institute.
  • Rs 5 crore allocated for Ramlila Maidan boundary walls.
  • 18,485 crore allocated for basic education.
