Reality Check: How emergency helpline number 112 of UP police is responding

During the reality check of UP Police’s emergency service 112, ETV Bharat witnessed exemplary service being provided by the policemen manning the Police Response Vehicles (PRV).

Lucknow: Trained to enforce law and order, policemen attached to police response vehicles (PRVs) are now performing a new role amid the lockdown imposed to curb coronavirus, with many of them attending calls related to supply of essential items and extending a helping hand to the poor, sick and distressed.

Thousands of policemen engaged in the emergency services of the police helpline 112 are working round-the-clock to meet the demands of food and medicines.

During the reality check of UP Police’s emergency service 112, ETV Bharat witnessed exemplary service being provided by the policemen manning the Police Response Vehicles (PRV).

The policemen have put their lives to great risk in serving humanity.

At around 2 AM in the night, the police team received a call from a woman from Sarojni Nagar areas. She said that her husband was very ill and she was alone with him and he is in urgent need of the medicines. The emergency vehicle PVR No. 511 parked on the main road was immediately pressed into action.

After purchasing the required medicine, the police team arrived at Chouhan Puram of Ganganagar the rural segment of Sarojini Nagar.

The policemen inquired about the condition of her husband and handed over the medicine to the family.

While talking to ETV Bharat, Inspector Pushparaj said that he feels great satisfaction and happiness which he had never felt earlier. He said he is fortunate that while being in the police service he was able to help the needy people.

This is how the humanitarian face of the policemen on emergency service came to the notice of ETV Bharat during its reality check. Policemen are helping the poor and the distressed people during the lockdown, put in place to check the spread of coronavirus.
