Rain, thundershowers with lightning very likely in parts of Uttar Pradesh

Few districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive rain, thundershowers and lightning today. IMD in its statement said that rain, thundershowers and lightning are very likely at isolated places over Mirzapur, Sonbhadra districts and adjoining areas.

Lucknow:Rain, thundershowers and lightning are very likely to occur today during next few hours (up to 09:50 am) in parts of Uttar Pradesh, according to the Meteorological Centre, Lucknow.

Rain, thundershowers and lightning are very likely at isolated places over Mirzapur, Sonbhadra districts and adjoining areas.

"Rain/Thundershowers and Lightning are very likely to occur today during next three hours (valid up to 09:50 hrs. IST) at isolated places over Mirzapur, Sonbhadra districts and adjoining areas," predicted the Meteorological Centre.

The eastern UP region was on red alert for the past two days. Eastern part of Uttar Pradesh includes Prayagraj, Amethi, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Sultanpur, Varanasi, Kaushambi, Kushinagar and 20 other districts.

The western part of Uttar Pradesh was on orange alert. Delhi was on yellow alert for July 11 and 12.

The bureau has four colour-coded warnings as per the intensity of any weather system -- green, yellow, orange and the last one being red. Red alert is given to authorities to be vigilant while orange is to remain prepared.

Various districts of Uttar Pradesh had faced a flood-like situation following the incessant rains in 2019.
