Property dealer out on morning walk shot dead in Lucknow

Rivalry over property issues is said to be the motive in the killing. The family of the victim has accused a man identified as Manoj Yadav as the person behind the killing.

Lucknow:A property dealer and Block Development Council (BDC) member was shot dead Tuesday morning by unknown assailants who came in a Scorpio car in Lucknow.

Vijay Pratap who was out for a walk was shot multiple times and the killers also tried to run over him. Large crowd gathered at the spot and police have been deployed there.

The victim's family has accused one person identified as Manoj Yadav as the person behind the murder and have refused to take the body.

They are sitting on a dharna with the body, demanding the arrest of the suspect.

The SUV which the murderers used to flee from the spot turned turtle, after which the vehicle was abandoned.

Rivalry over some property issue is said to be behind the crime.

The police have reached the spot and an investigation has been initiated.
