Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Police have stepped up to vigil at eight major and four minor COVID-19 hotspots in Uttar Pradesh's capital city which were completely sealed to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
Police have been patrolling around these areas to ensure that nobody ventures out of their homes, Police Commissioner, Lucknow, Sujit Pandey said.

"All the hotspots in the city are already barricaded and sealed until the morning of April 15. All establishments will be closed in these localities and the media's entry also got restricted," he said.
"Only the supply of essential commodities are being maintained in these localities," Pandey said.
Pandey further said that the fire brigade is allowed to sanitise these areas.
The eight major hotspots in the state capital including localities near eight mosques where Tablighi Jamaat members are residing.
The minor hotspots are in Vijay Khand and Gomti Nagar, where four members of a family including a two and a child tested positive for COVID-19.
