PFI, CFI trying to spread their base: Police

Extremist organisations like Popular Front of India (PFI) and Campus Front of India (CFI) are being tracked for their anti-India activities. Police said many of their members have been arrested in the recent past, and security agencies are keeping a close watch on them.

Bahraich: In this Nepal bordering town of Uttar Pradesh, extremist organisations like Popular Front of India (PFI) and Campus Front of India (CFI) are trying to spread their base, police said.

Kunwar Gyananjay Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, speaking to ETV Bharat said that the security agencies are keeping a close watch on organisations like PFI and CFI.

He said many people associated with these groups have been arrested recently and sent to jail.

The police officer said these organisations spread hatred and try to disturb peace in the country.

"Several of their members have been arrested as the police and other security agencies are keeping an eye on their activities," he said, adding that security agencies are committed to maintaining peace.
