Petition filed in Allahabad High Court seeking CBI investigation in Mahant Narendra Giri's death

A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court, demanding a CBI inquiry into the mysterious death of Mahant Narendra Giri. Sunil Kumar alias Sunil Chaudhary, Advocate and Social Activist of Allahabad High Court, has filed the petition. The petitioner said that the circumstances under which Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead on Monday evening are very suspicious and mysterious.

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court, demanding a CBI inquiry into the mysterious death of Mahant Narendra Giri. Sunil Kumar alias Sunil Chaudhary, Advocate and Social Activist of Allahabad High Court, has filed the petition. The petitioner said that the circumstances under which Mahant Naredran Giri was found dead on Monday evening are very suspicious and mysterious.

In this petition filed before the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, it is mentioned that there is a dispute regarding the embezzlement of the Math property. It has been covered in the newspapers that there is a possibility of involvement of top police officers and the land mafia. So far, three people have been arrested in this case.

Therefore, the investigation of the incident should be carried out by the CBI or a judicial inquiry into the matter by constituting an SIT. In the petition, there is also a demand to suspend the Prayagraj District Magistrate and SSP during the investigation. The petitioner says that the state machinery has failed to protect the Mahant.

Describing the death of Narendra Giri as suspicious, in the letter petition, it has been said that many things are coming to the fore. Many questions are also being raised on death. Some members of the Akhara have raised doubts over the five-page suicide letter purportedly written by Mahant Narendra Giri. One of his disciples, Mahant Anand Giri, is a prime suspect and has been detained from Haridwar. There is also the matter of doubt that the suicide note is like a 'will', in which the Mahant specified the work and responsibilities for his disciples.
