One killed, four injured in clash over temple in Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabirnagar

A clash broke out between two groups over the placing of Shivling near the well in Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabirnagar district. One person was killed and four others were injured in the clash.

Sant Kabirnagar: One person was killed and four others were injured in a clash in Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabirnagar district on Tuesday.

The incident took place in Katka village in Sitapur Tehsil under Mahuli police station area limits.

Police officials said that the two groups hit each with lathis after a fight broke out over the placing of Shivling near the well in the area, in which a 60-year-old man along with four others was grievously injured.

The deceased Sant Mukt succumbed on his way to the hospital while the others are admitted.

Four persons have been detained so far in connection to the incident and further investigation is on, police said.
