Ayodhya: Artefacts, idols of gods and goddesses, shivling and carvings on sandstone have been found during the land levelling work for Ram temple construction in the holy city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
Iqbal Ansari, a litigant from the Muslim side in the Ram Temple-Babri Masjid case in the Supreme Court said that these remains should be respected and Ram temple should be built soon where people can pray to get rid of Coronavirus.
In a press release, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has said that the work started on May 11, 2020. Since then many objects of archaeological importance like flowers made of stone, Kalash, Aamalak, Dorjamb, have been discovered during the land levelling work at the Ram Janmabhoomi premises here in Ayodhya.
Iqbal said, "there is no need to politicise it as India is rich in culture and heritage. All remains found in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex should be respected should be preserved safely."
Even the ASI findings had also established that there were remains of an ancient temple beneath the site where the disputed structure -- Babri Masjid -- was erected.
